There is something so classic and elegant about houndstooth. It’s one of my all-time favorite plaid patterns. It’s very British. Pip pip!! I have fond memories of my mother wearing a houndstooth blazer and wanting to have one just like it when I was older. Which, I’m “older” now and still don’t have one…but a houndstooth skirt is just as good, right?!
Fun fact, I found this classic wool houndstooth skirt at the Salvation Army. You read that right. Salvation freaking Army! I actually love thrift shopping. It’s a thing that my mom, sister and I do together. We have found some of our favorite brands at salvation army. We make a whole day out of it! Pro tip: eat before you go, you’ll need your energy 😉
Anyway, as soon as I found this, I NEEDED it. Like it’s just a must-have, need-it-now, sparks ALL THE JOY kinda thing. So I got it for like $4!!! Win-win
It’s the perfect skirt for fall OR winter. It all depends on how you dress it. You could easily wear black tights with it for warmer weather. You can also dress it down a little bit by wearing a pair of loafers instead of heels.
I am wearing the Bryn-Cap Toe Leather Black Heel from J. Crew. They are so comfortable and a staple-shoe for me for work or events!
Even though I got this skirt from the Salvation Army, J.Crew has a similar one here.
